We are doing some final testing here, but it looks like the BE Daily Traffic Lottery will be live as of tomorrow.

Members will earn daily lottery tokens on Battle of the Blogs, Blog Rocket and when surfing blogs for a chance to win the daily traffic pool. BOTB and Rocket will also require 20 second visits for each visit now. We think these changes will be definite improvements over the current setup.

Yesterday I went out for lunch with Jeremy Wright and he has agreed to help broker the sale of BlogExplosion.

Beyond being widely-respected in the blogging industry, Jeremy has a vast wealth of knowledge and experience that can help us find the right buyer for BlogExplosion.

Jeremy owns the popular blog Ensight, is the President of B5 Media and the author of the book Blog Marketing

Jeremy brings critical skills to the table that we frankly don’t have and turns out to be a pretty cool guy as well. We are excited that he will be helping us with the sale of the site.

We have received approximately 20 inquiries into the purchase of the site so far. We have even received media inquiries into the sale of BE and the process has just begun. This is all new to us, so this is where Jeremy steps in to help.

What happens next?

We are putting together a PDF that explains all the good things BlogExplosion has to offer. We hope to have this out in the next 7-10 days to potential buyers.

This is definitely not a typo or an early April Fool’s joke. BlogExplosion will be going up for sale next week. We will be sending out a special email early next week with full details about how we plan to sell the site.

After many long discussions over the last couple of weeks we have decided that it is time to find a company that can take BlogExplosion to the next level.

When we started BlogExplosion in October 2004 we never dreamed it would ever get this large. BlogExplosion has many repeat advertisers (because the system works) and to be honest if we could move more traffic our sales would be double than what they are currently. There are many additional revenue streams that could also be incorporated to increase sales including sites sponsorships, email sponsorships, podcast/vidcast advertising, BE Radio spots, image hosting upgrades amongst many others.

Who would want to buy BlogExplosion?

We have contacted a couple of people to potentially broker and provide advice for the sale of BlogExplosion. We will be sending out a PR early next week with a two week window for companies interested in purchasing BlogExplosion.

What happens for existing BE members?

Things are business as usual. We will be launching the Daily Traffic Lottery next week and will continue looking for advertisers for BlogCharm. Remember this is a good thing because a larger company can take BE to the next level which means even a larger network of bloggers for everyone.

We have put our hearts and soul into BlogExplosion. It is our baby and we have poured our lives into this site. For members that have been with us for some time, you know we have done everything in our power to to make BlogExplosion the best site possible… But we are builders. We like to build new stuff. I am not sure we have the internal drive or motivation anymore to take it further as we have given it our best. We are very proud of what we have accomplished.

BlogExplosion really is a neat community for people to hang out at. So many sites on the internet have absolutely no clue what it takes to build a community online but we think that BE has touched thousands of people.  We also hope that BE has made better bloggers out of you as well. People have established many friendships through our site, built loyal readerships and we really like that fact.

BlogExplosion members have always been the best and it has been an honor to have been able to serve your needs. We thank you for all of your support when we needed it and kept up motivated to keep going. There have been some tough days here and it has been our members that made us want to get up in the morning. We thank you for that.

Running a contest on your blog or want to reward your loyal readers?

Now you can transfer credits to other BE members!

Heck you can even give away credits to members for leaving comments on your blog. What a great way to show your appreciation for readers that take the time to visit your blog!

Note:

1) You can transfer 10-250 credits at a time

2) You can transfer credits to the same member a maximum of once per week

3) You can transfer a total of 1000 credits per 7 days

4) You are not allowed to sell credits to another member for money. Any person caught selling credits will have their accounts deleted immediately (both buyer and seller)

Some things to note

- Earnings are calculated every 24 hours and not posted until then

- Members are paid for unique visits only

Until we have a chance to fully test our ad-serving software under load, we have set a daily max of 500 paid impressions per day per account. This will give us time to further test the anti-cheat scripts that we have in place and make sure that everyone is playing by the rules.

What happens next?

BlogCharm has a couple of in-house ads running now, but moving forward we will start to implement other ads as well. We have approached several advertising companies to negotiate deals for running ads on BlogCharm and will have to wait and see what types of CPMs we are offered and go from there.

What is happening with site sponsorships?

Over the next week we will also negotiate deals for site sponsorships. First things first, we have to make sure that the paid text ads are running properly.
