In our next generation blogging series we have been highlighting what’s coming.  Saving time is blogging is a big key and I’ve been hearing about some great new products that will do just that.  Look back here in February and I will pre-announce a new product for you.

In the meantime, keep in mind, whenever you are buying/using blogging software, especially if your selecting new software, be sure that it is simple and easy to use; this will Save You Time in blogging.  If you can’t get a post in and looking good in a few minutes, you got the wrong program.

Remember, you may be using your selected package for YEARS!  So, spend a little time and select the right software for you.

it’s experienced bloggers going to the next level… an example that I recently saw of next generation blogging was 2advanced.com blog. They are already world class with flash, but, their blog is rather cutting edge as well.

I was looking around for anything related to weekend blog traffic trends because blogging activity across the board including BlogExplosion on weekends really drops. I found a really good article for members on Blog Business World about how to maintain readership and blog traffic over the weekend by adding contests and other fun stuff to reward your regular readers. Lots of solid ideas there. Great article.

One of the neat things about starting a blog on a new server with a new domain is to monitor how it initially gets picked up by both traditional and blog search engines. We had this exact opportunity with the launch of helpmeblog.com today.

I often remind BlogExplosion members to ping their blog posts and get indexed properly so we tried it here ourselves.

We logged in and used the BE “Ping My Blog” feature and wanted to see what happened…

Sure enough a couple of hours after pinging the new helpmeblog.com blog it showed up in Technorati

Looks like it points to the original blog template we used for testing today but the important lesson learned was YES pinging your blog to blog search engines works and can create better search engine listings for your blog.
