When are the daily winners drawn?
Look on the left side of the page for Time Remaining Today. The daily winners are drawn once the clock resets for the day.
What are the odds of winning?
That depends on the total number of total tickets earned for that day. For Example: If you earn 10 tickets and there are a total of 100 tickets earned that day, then your odds of winning are 10%.
What is the breakdowns for the total credit pool each day?
50% - 1st place
25% - 2nd place
10% - 3rd place
5% - 4th place
5% - 5th place
5% - 6th place

We are doing some final testing here, but it looks like the BE Daily Traffic Lottery will be live as of tomorrow.
Members will earn daily lottery tokens on Battle of the Blogs, Blog Rocket and when surfing blogs for a chance to win the daily traffic pool. BOTB and Rocket will also require 20 second visits for each visit now. We think these changes will be definite improvements over the current setup.

Yesterday I went out for lunch with Jeremy Wright and he has agreed to help broker the sale of BlogExplosion.
Beyond being widely-respected in the blogging industry, Jeremy has a vast wealth of knowledge and experience that can help us find the right buyer for BlogExplosion.
Jeremy owns the popular blog Ensight, is the President of B5 Media and the author of the book Blog Marketing
Jeremy brings critical skills to the table that we frankly don’t have and turns out to be a pretty cool guy as well. We are excited that he will be helping us with the sale of the site.
We have received approximately 20 inquiries into the purchase of the site so far. We have even received media inquiries into the sale of BE and the process has just begun. This is all new to us, so this is where Jeremy steps in to help.
What happens next?
We are putting together a PDF that explains all the good things BlogExplosion has to offer. We hope to have this out in the next 7-10 days to potential buyers.

BlogExplosion has many repeat advertisers (because the system works) and to be honest if we could move more traffic our sales would be double than what they are currently. There are many additional revenue streams that could also be incorporated to increase sales including sites sponsorships, email sponsorships, podcast/vidcast advertising, BE Radio spots, image hosting upgrades amongst many others.

We have contacted a couple of people to potentially broker and provide advice for the sale of BlogExplosion. We will be sending out a PR early next week with a two week window for companies interested in purchasing BlogExplosion.
What happens for existing BE members?
Things are business as usual. We will be launching the Daily Traffic Lottery next week and will continue looking for advertisers for BlogCharm. Remember this is a good thing because a larger company can take BE to the next level which means even a larger network of bloggers for everyone.
We have put our hearts and soul into BlogExplosion. It is our baby and we have poured our lives into this site. For members that have been with us for some time, you know we have done everything in our power to to make BlogExplosion the best site possible… But we are builders. We like to build new stuff. I am not sure we have the internal drive or motivation anymore to take it further as we have given it our best. We are very proud of what we have accomplished.
BlogExplosion really is a neat community for people to hang out at. So many sites on the internet have absolutely no clue what it takes to build a community online but we think that BE has touched thousands of people. We also hope that BE has made better bloggers out of you as well. People have established many friendships through our site, built loyal readerships and we really like that fact.
BlogExplosion members have always been the best and it has been an honor to have been able to serve your needs. We thank you for all of your support when we needed it and kept up motivated to keep going. There have been some tough days here and it has been our members that made us want to get up in the morning. We thank you for that.

Now you can add your image to your podcast much like the way we have thumbnails for blogs.
Simply add the url of the image from your add/edit podcast page and you can specify what image you want to use.
Note: If you had an old image there from an existing approved blog you will need to add an image again as we have removed the old system and will have all podcasters use the new avatar system.

An important update has been made to BlogTextLinks today!

Members pointed out that the mouseover for blogtextlinks was not displaying correctly as it was sometimes not showing 100% on screen depending on where you placed it on your blog. Now when you click on Get HTML you can choose where the mouseover comes up so you can position the mouseovers to the left or right depending on where you put your blogtextlinks code on your blog. |
